Tiny Painting ‘Texas Capitol Granite in Austin, Texas’

$50.00

Tiny painting of forgotten granite blocks along the tracks north of Austin. To build the Capitol building in the 1880s, 25 miles of railway was laid between the granite quarry in Burnet, Texas and downtown Austin to transport the Capitol’s signature ‘pink granite.’  Some of those rough granite blocks never made it the jobsite when the flatcar left the tracks at a bend in the line.  Some are still there where they fell.  Oil on canvas. 3 x 3 inches. Tiny easel included.

Dimensions 3 × 3 × .5 in
