Under the Bridge

Austin’s Lamar Boulevard Bridge, the city’s second bridge to span the Colorado River, was built in the 1940s when the river alternated between roaring flood and modest stream.   The sturdy bridge has endured the city’s explosive growth and still hides a patch of quiet beauty on Lady Bird Lake.    Oil on canvas board.  12 x 12 inches.
